How To Burn 400 Calories In 20 Minutes

When it comes to toning your entire body all the while burning up some serious calories, a walk around the block just won’t do. In fact, a lengthy resistance session at the gym won’t do the job either. What it takes is a total-body resistance and cardio session in one. While a run offers the most effective option, the truth is, some of us simply aren’t and will never be the running type. Onto the next best thing, - invest in some kettlebells.

A kettlebell is one of the most effective tools for sculpting the lean, and strong body. A study published by the American Council on Exercise  (ACE) recently found that the average person could burn as many as 400 calories in 20 minutes with a kettlebell workout. To put it more simply, that is burning the same amount of calories as running 1.5 kilometers in 5 minutes.

What makes kettlebell workouts so effective is that they facilitate a greater range of movement than using barbells and dumbbells and incorporating a lot of swinging movements. In turn, you are forced to use more stabilizer muscles, which are often left neglected during weights training. The results are more calories burnt and an increase in fitness.

Before you pick up a set of kettlebells and start swinging, ensure you read up and educate yourself on proper form to ensure an injury-free workout.
