Erin Phillips has one of the most enviable résumés in sports right now, and there are no signs of slowing down having just added a stack of new accolades from her outstanding performance in the inaugural AFLW season.

As a member of the Adelaide Crows, Phillips was crucial in helping the team secure the premiership cup against the Brisbane Lions.

During the dream season, she collected AFLW best-and-fairest, grand final best-on-ground, AFLW Players' Association MVP, Crows club champion and the fan-voted goal of the year.

Phillips' rich professional sports history demonstrates she’s everything but a one-trick pony.

As much as she excelled in football this year, Erin has spent the rest of her career shining on the basketball court.

Her stint on the Australian national basketball team resulted in gold medals in the 2006 Commonwealth Games and 2006 World Championships as well as a silver medal showing at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

It didn't take long for WNBA teams in the United States to take notice of Phillips in 2006 where she signed with the Connecticut Sun.

An eventual move to the Indiana Fever in 2011 set her up for a WNBA Championship in 2012 and 2 years later another WNBA Championship with the Phoenix Mercury.

After her huge AFLW success, Phillips will continue her thriving basketball career in the US with the WNBA’s Dallas Wings this April.

Her love of football, however, remains strong in her heart. The now 31-year-old is passionate about being a source of inspiration for the young girls of SA to pursue their dreams of a football career – "Looking at these young girls and thinking ‘gosh, they could be in our position someday’, is pretty special".

Alongside fellow co-captain Chelsea Randall, Phillips has made her mark in gaining recognition for female players and their contribution to the evolution of the sport.

She is excited to continue riding her wave of success and paving the way for the future generation of AFLW sports stars.
