The Mizuno Hyperwarp Pure 2 is an ultra-light carbon-plated road racing shoe built for precision, efficiency and speed. Weighing just 135g, it pairs high cushioning with Mizuno Enerzy XP+ foam and a carbon fibre Smooth Speed Plate to create an energetic, propulsive ride for race day.
Its exceptionally lightweight construction is designed to retain stability and control at speed, giving runners the confidence to commit when the pace increases. The 38mm heel and 35mm forefoot create a low 3mm drop, while the racing geometry keeps the shoe focused firmly on efficient forward movement.
The Smooth Speed Plate is 8mm longer than the previous version, with the updated design intended to enhance toe-off propulsion and improve efficiency through each stride. Working together with the premium racing foam platform, the carbon plate helps create a more decisive transition through the forefoot when running at race pace.
Mizuno also reports a 14% improvement in energy return compared with the Hyperwarp Pure 1. That added responsiveness is designed to complement the shoe's extremely low weight, helping it feel quick and energetic without giving up the high level of cushioning built into the platform.
