Josh and Adam review an awesome update to a popular performance model in the Mizuno running shoes range, the Mizuno Wave Inspire 13.

It's a perfect choice for runners seeking pronation support and comes loaded with technologies including a Double Fan Wave plate, U4ic X cushioning system and flex grooves for a smooth, natural ride.

Check out the full review with transcript below.

Josh: Welcome to Sportitude. My name's Josh. I’m here today with Adam to talk to you guys about the Mizuno Wave Inspire 13. It's the new updated version of their most popular model the Wave Inspire and we’re super amped about talking to you guys today about this shoe.

What we find with the Mizuno Wave Inspire is you're talking about a shoe with the Double Fan Wave plate on the medial side which gives that midstance assistance. Looking for a runner that would -

Adam: Roll in.

Josh: Mildly pronate. As Adam says, roll in. Looking for your midstance pronation support, the Double Wave plate holds your foot on the footbed. The other beautiful thing about the Mizuno, the whole family really but just the Inspire now is they’re a nice and light configuration.

There’s not much to them on the foot and they feel great. You can use them for your high mileage runs and shorter stuff as well.

Adam: Doesn’t sacrifice any ks being a lighter shoe, does it?

Josh: No. Talking about the Wave Inspire in comparison to its previous model, the Wave Inspire 12. The 13 here really is exactly the same shoe as the previous model, the only difference in the upper is they’ve got -

Adam: The double overlay. It’s actually reinforced at the top. For a lot of people who maybe pop through or bust out the side it gives you that reinforcement.

Josh: In terms of the upper, yes. It holds your foot in a lot better doesn’t it. Fantastic.

When you are talking about a runner who pronates in the toe off phase especially, this little guy not only provides support underneath the foot but the upper plays a really important role. The heel counter again like we touched on Mizuno before is nice and deep, delivering very stable and clean cradle support.

Just touching on underneath the shoe, when you are looking at the Mizuno range and especially the Wave Inspire 13, we’ve got the flex grooves that offer that nice flexible toe off phase. There's almost like a Guidance Line which allows the foot to bend in the right areas and get ready for toe off.

The Trusstic system provides a stable fit and feel. For those Mizuno runners out there that don’t know or aren't up to date with technology, the U4ic X cushioning system is what they’ve injected in the back of the shoe. It provides a soft cushioned feel underneath the foot.

Adam: It really takes out impact, doesn’t it?

Josh: Absolutely. When you hit the ground and you want impact guidance, Mizuno provide the U4ic X cushioning system. The Wave Inspire 13, the technology really punches you in the face.

Josh & Adam: In store now!
