Here is the thing about weight loss, it’s the calories that sneak up on you that are often the real culprits. While you may believe that your skinny decaf latte is just a small blip on the radar in terms of your overall calorie intake, an average 295ml cup contains 90 calories. With the average coffee lover consuming a minimum of 3 cups a day, that’s 270 added calories a day. If that doesn’t sound like a lot, let’s put it in exercise terms. For the average 60kg woman, walking off those three cups of coffee would require 78 minutes of moderate walking.

What about a skinny hot chocolate to curb that sugar craving? The average 295ml cup of skinny hot chocolate contains 145 calories. Powder or syrup form, most hot chocolates will contain 3-6 teaspoons of sugar. What does this mean for your weight loss? It means a nice 43-minute walk around the block to burn off those 10 minutes of pleasure.
